BrightPay does not provide the MAT B1 form. 

 

The MAT B1 is a medical certificate issued by a doctor or midwife to confirm an employee’s pregnancy and the expected week of childbirth. This form must be provided by the employee to the employer as part of the statutory maternity pay (SMP) process.

 

In BrightPay, you can process statutory maternity leave and pay, and you can generate the SMP1 form if an employee does not qualify for SMP. However, the MAT B1 form itself cannot be generated or downloaded from BrightPay, as it is a medical document that must be supplied by the employee’s healthcare provider.

 

If you need to complete an SMP1 form in BrightPay, you can follow the steps outlined here:  

- Employees - Select the Employee in question.

- Click More on the employee's menu bar, then "SMP1..."

- Complete the form and print, email, or export as needed.

 

 

If an employee has provided you with a MAT B1 form and you would like to keep a record of it for future HMRC audit purposes, you can scan / take a copy of it and upload it as a document for that employee in the employee portal. This can be done under Employer section > Employee Portal > Resources.
