We do not recommend importing previous years' data files to BrightPay Cloud.

For example, if you are moving from BrightPay Desktop to BrightPay Cloud in the 2025/26 tax year, you will import your employer file for that particular tax year and not the 2024/25, 2023/24, etc. tax year versions.

If you need to access data from the previous tax years, you will still retain your BrightPay Desktop license for any tax years versions you have purchased, so this information will always be accessible via BrightPay Desktop.
