Here are the steps to turn on payslips and PAYE bill notifications clients (Users in the client portal)
Log into Brightpay and navigate to the Employer > Client Portal section.
At the bottom of the Email Notifications screen, you will see two options:
- Enable Payslip Email Notifications:
- Here you can choose whether to send payslip notifications to all users or select specific users.
- Once activated, users will receive an email as soon as their payslips are finalised and available in the client portal.
- Enable PAYE Bill Email Notifications:
- Decide if you want all users or specific users to be notified about PAYE bill amounts due to HMRC.
- When enabled, the relevant users will be alerted when their PAYE bills are ready to view.
Turn on these notifications to keep everyone informed automatically.

Q. Is there a way to view emails that have been sent to clients from within the software?
A. Currently, there is no audit trail or log within the software to view emails that have been sent to clients. This is a feature that has been requested by customers and is under consideration for future development. We are unable to provide a time frame for when it might be available.
Please note: The “last emailed” date and time stamp is currently only available for emailed payslips. It is not available for P45 or P60 documents emailed via BrightPay.
