BrightPay's Employee Self Service Portal (EESSP) is an online self-service portal enabling online accessibility for employees.
Employees
BrightPay provides a web-based portal where employees can browse and download their history of payslips and other payroll documents, view their payroll calendar, including annual leave, sick leave and parenting leave, request leave directly from their employee portal, view their personal details and request to make updates to their personal details.
The Employee Self Service Portal (EESSP) enables employees to log in to their self-service portal using their PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone. Within the employee’s self service portal, employees can access and retrieve payslips and other payroll documentation.
Employees can also use the self-service portal to view various personal information, such as phone number and postal address.
The self-service portal also includes an employee calendar, allowing employees to view past and scheduled leave, such as annual leave, sick leave, and statutory leave. Employees may be able to request leave or request to make a change or update of their personal details.
Employees will still have access to the Employee Self Service Portal (EESSP) until their employer unticks the permission or turns off the portal. It is different than Connect.
Please note: only annual leave or unpaid leave can be requested by employees using the Employee Self Service Portal (either via the web or the mobile app). Any other leave types such as sick leave cannot be requested by employees - this needs to be added to the calendar by a manager or payroll processor.
There is no activity log to show if or when employees have accessed their payslips online via the employee portal. It is possible to see if documents added to the Employee Portal Resources have been viewed.
You can check the activity log for the resource by going to Employer section > Employee Portal > Resources - select the resource, then click on the spanner icon on the right side of the screen > View Activity Log:

It will then give you the time stamps / dates of when the resource was uploaded and if/when it was viewed by the employee.
To restrict an employee's access to the portal, go to their record in the Employees tab > HR section and disable their access here. Save changes.
Hiding the Holiday / Annual Leave Calendar
If your organisation manages holidays or annual leave outside of BrightPay and you do not want employees to see this information in their Employee Portal, you can remove the calendar feature from the portal view. To do this, go to Employer > Employee Portal > Employee Portal Settings, and disable the calendar option. This will hide the holiday and leave calendar from the Employee Self-Service Portal.
Note: Employees can view multiple employments (including previous employments) under one login in the Employee Self-Service Portal, unless an employer has disabled portal access for a particular employment. If portal access is switched off by any employer, those employments will no longer appear in the employee portal.
