A car allowance is a fixed, recurring payment added to an employee's salary to cover business-related use of a personal vehicle and is usually paid monthly to the employee via payroll.
This is treated differently to a 'Car Benefit in Kind' - It is not the same thing and does not need to be reported via the P11D(b), as car allowance is treated like a cash payment and not a 'benefit in kind'.
