One of the strongest themes in the feedback from early adopters has been around sensitive data. While WhatsApp messages are encrypted end-to-end, many businesses – and their employees – are understandably cautious about entering bank details, National Insurance numbers and tax information directly into a chat.
We’ve listened, and we’ve built a solution.
From today, Oscar’s onboarding journey happens in two simple parts:
Part one – WhatsApp for non‑sensitive information
Oscar continues to contact new starters on WhatsApp as normal. Through a friendly, guided conversation, Oscar gathers all the non-sensitive details needed to get onboarding underway – things like contact information and basic employment details.
Part two – A secure web form for sensitive data
When it’s time to collect sensitive information, Oscar now sends the new starter a secure link to a dedicated web form. Here, they can safely enter their bank details, National Insurance number and P45 information in an encrypted environment designed specifically for handling this type of data.
The outcome for you is exactly the same: all information flows straight into BrightPay, securely and automatically, clean and ready for your review and approval. The key difference is that sensitive data never touches WhatsApp at any point in the journey.
This update is now live for all users.
Thank you again for your feedback and for helping us make Oscar – and BrightPay – even more secure.
