This release brings a new self-service feature for Pay By Bank, along with several reliability and performance improvements across the client portal and payroll processing. Everything below is live from Wednesday 16 September 2026. If you have any questions, our support team is happy to help.
New Feature
Remove a bank account from Pay By BankYou can now remove a connected bank account from Pay By Bank yourself, directly from the Bank Accounts screen โ no need to contact support. Previously, bank accounts could be linked but never removed, meaning a closed, replaced, or incorrectly-connected account would remain listed and could be selected in error when creating a pay run. When you remove an account, BrightPay Cloud automatically clears that account from any pay schedules in the current tax year that referenced it, and shows you which schedules were affected so you can assign a replacement before your next pay run. If a payment using that account is currently in progress, you will be told, and the account will remain listed until it is safe to remove. If the account you are removing is your only connected account, you will see an additional confirmation before proceeding. BrightPay Cloud (UK)

Client portal documents and PDFs are now available without a waiting screen
Documents and PDFs in the client portal now generate in the background. You will no longer be held on a waiting screen while they are produced โ they become available to download once ready.

BrightPay Cloud loads more reliably, with a clear prompt if a refresh is needed
BrightPay Cloud now loads more reliably following an update. In the rare event that the application does not start correctly, you will see a clear message and a Reload button rather than an indefinite loading spinner, allowing you to recover immediately without contacting support.

Adding a payment after leaving now works correctly for six or more employees
Adding a payment after leaving now completes successfully regardless of how many employees are included. Previously, this action did not complete as expected when processing six or more employees at once.
